If there's no fresh dahon ng ampalaya around, I just buy this frozen one. Whichever frozen or not, it must have some bitterness. Tropics ampalaya bittermelon leaves are perfect for nilaga soup, ginisang monggo or tinola. Very rich in Vitamin A and C, iron and other nutrients. The bitter the food the better you get used to it lol.

These are super mini bitter melons, about the size of a hand grenade. Each order contains three; one was moldy, but the other two looked quite fresh.
This season is all about eating bitter melon, especially the rare white jade bitter melon ~ delicious
I really like white jade bitter melon, although it doesn't keep very long. It has small black spots after just two or three days, so I need to prepare it quickly. Dinner - salted egg bitter melon.
